Our sustainability journey actually started many years ago. When the Borusan icon we still use was introduced in 1992, two of the concepts expressed by the lines were respect for the environment and efficiency. Let's take a look at the prominent dates in this journey.

We have created our corporate identity in a modern sense with our logo, which highlights our values such as Respect for the Environment and Efficiency.
1992
We received the first certificate of conformity issued by the Turkish Standards Institute..
1996
In order to manage our environmental footprint, we received the first Management Systems certificate for our Head Office building, Bursa Service Center and Gemlik and Halkalı Factories.
2012
We took the first step towards a sustainable organizational structure by establishing a Sustainability Committee under the leadership of the General Manager and senior management to integrate sustainability practices into our business processes and monitor our sustainability performance.
2019
We have determined climate, people and innovation as our sustainability value areas.

We launched Borusan Equal Gender Glasses for gender equality and the commitment for equal opportunities in the workplace was signed by our General Manager.

Agile working groups have started their work in sustainable business lines such as Decarbonization, Circular Economy, New Product and Talent Management throughout the company.

Our first corporate carbon footprint measurement has been completed.
2020
We published our first sustainability report in line with the Global Reporting Initiative.

We answered our first set of questions within the scope of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). We raised awareness in the areas of water and climate change.

Our first corporate water footprint measurement was completed.
2021
We have also joined the United Nations Global Compact, which Borusan Holding has been a signatory to since 2006.

The Environmental Product Declaration was published for the first time in order to measure the environmental impact of our products.

2022
We started using completely renewable energy in our production facilities in Turkey.

We published our first Sustainability report, which also includes our global locations.

We launched our first company-specific Sustainability Faculty project in Turkey to train sustainability experts throughout the company in collaboration with universities.

We exhibited our artwork designed with our near-zero emission steel pipes at the Tube&Wire Fair in Düsseldorf and received acclaim.

Our Factory Innovation Network project was launched to bring new and different ideas that will add value to our business in the innovation and start-up ecosystem.

2023
Our in-house innovation program FutureUp, which aims to create innovative ideas with those who want to create value under the roof of Factory Innovation Network, has started.
