Commencing operations in 1958 with 27 employees and a catalog of five products, Borusan Pipe’s first plant in Halkalı manufactured pipe for use in a wide range of applications from white goods to bicycles and automotives. In response to growing demand, a new 67,000 m2 plant was built and has been in continuous production since 1968.
From 1958 to future generations Facilities and Production Techniques.
With our production power spread over 3 continents, we produce steel pipes for various sectors and offer value-added solutions to our business partners' projects.

Established in 1976 in a 388,000 m2 area, this plant serves as Borusan Pipe production hub and manufactures pipes both for the home market and for export.

Established in 2016 on 24,000 m2 area, this center’s mission is to offer fast and effective solutions for customers’ needs by processing precision pipes manufactured in Halkalı so that they can be used in the production of motor vehicles’ various components.

Established in 2019 on 20,000 m2 area, this is the only facility in Europe equipped with fully automatic manufacturing and surface preparation lines. The plant produces precision steel pipes for the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) and automotive supply industry in Türkiye and European markets.

Built at an investment cost of USD 150 million and located in Houston, TX on 500,000 m2 area, this plant became operational in the third quarter of 2014 to produce well, and drilling pipes used in transmission lines as well as in oil and natural gas exploration and extraction. This investment positioned Borusan Pipe as a Turkish originated company, which owns one of the leading manufacturing facilities in the US oil & gas industry.

In 2023, work began to establish a SRM line on 15,000 m2 area in Baytown, Houston TX. This project, which is being undertaken at an investment cost of USD 50 million, will create jobs for 85 people.

Located in Panama City, FL in North America and originally built in 1979 on 28,600 m2 area, this plant was acquired by Borusan Pipe in 2023. It produces Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded pipe.

Located in Mobile, AL in North America and originally built in 2007 on 30,800 m2 area, this plant was acquired by Borusan Pipe in 2023. It produces Helical Submerged Arc Welded pipe.

Located in Vobarno Italy, the Borusan Vobarno Tubi SpA plant was established in 2001 on 24,000 m2 area. The facility’s expertise in the manufacturing of high value-added cold drawn precision steel pipe, its sales to customers in countries with advanced automotive industries like Italy, Germany, Spain, and France, and its superior product and service quality have made it a well-known supplier of the European automotive industry

In 2023, Borusan Pipe began work on a project to set up a service center on 4,800 m2 area in Ploieşti, Romania. Undertaken at an investment cost of EUR 15 million, production at this center is slated to begin in the first quarter of 2024.

Our Production Techniques
Our production power lies in our ability to produce with special techniques for different areas. The main production techniques are LSAW, HSAW, ERW, SRM, RollForm and Cold-Drawn.
LSAW – Longitudinal Submerged Arc-Welding Pipe
It is produced by bending single-piece steel plates to form pipes. This type of pipe is produced in outer diameters between
24” (610 mm) and 60” (1,524 mm) and with a wall thickness of 1.5” (38 mm) with longitudinally welded line pipes with double
connections up to 24 m (80 ft) in length, resistant to the lowest temperatures in polar environments and extreme pressures in ultra-deep ocean applications.
Borusan Berg Pipe produces these pipes in our Panama City, FL factory for the North American market.
HSAW/SSAW – Helical/Spirally Submerged Arc-Welding Pipe
Spirally welded pipes can be produced in large diameters with the possibilities provided by the production technique. The outer diameters of these pipes, which are produced by bending rolled steel coils in a spiral form and combining them, can be up to 3 meters.
Borusan Berg Pipe produces these pipes in our Mobile, AL factory for the North American market.
ERW – Electrical Resistance Welded Pipe
Customized for different areas of use and manufactured with minimum tolerance in accordance with quality standards, electric resistance welded pipes can be produced with wall thickness, diameter and coating options as required by the project or area of use.
They are produced in our factories in Halkalı, Gemlik and Baytown to be used in our solutions for various markets and special needs in the sector.
SRM (Streched Reducing Mill)
It is a production technique that involves heating a mother pipe of a specific size to 900 degrees Celsius and passing it through reels of any size to reduce its diameter. Thanks to the heating process, the hardness difference between the welded part of the steel pipe and the remaining area is eliminated and homogenized, and its durability increases.
It is produced in our Gemlik and Baytown factories to be used in our solutions for various markets and special needs in the sector.
RollForming
It is a profile production process in which profiles are passed through special rollers and shaped to produce different shapes for special needs.
It is produced in our Gemlik factory for our solutions for special needs in the Turkish and European markets.
Cold-Drawn Pipes and Tubes
The cold drawing technique produces high-precision steel tubes, increases surface quality, and improves forming properties. Pipes are processed in fully automatic machines and coated with protective oil.
They are produced in our Halkalı, Gemlik, and Vobarno factories as part of our solutions for special needs in the European automotive market.
