Cold Drawing Method in Steel Tubes

There are different processing methods for steel pipes to be used in different industries according to their properties, dimensions, quality requirements, investment and benefits. Cold drawing process, which is one of these methods, is a chipless forming method applied by reducing the cross-section and extending the length of the material in order to obtain more precise surface quality of hot rolled steels. The cold drawing method, which is generally applied to low carbon steels, can meet the demands for precise tolerance and high surface quality thanks to its many advantages.

Advantages of Cold Drawn Pipe

HIGH STRENGTH AND HARDNESS PROPERTIES

Cold drawing increases the strength of the pipe, making it suitable for use in safety and performance critical applications.

REACHING THE DESIRED SIZE

As a result of the processes applied in the cold drawn tube production process, cold drawn tubes can be produced to close dimensional tolerances, resulting in steel tubes with consistent diameter and thickness.

ENHANCED VIEW

Since cold drawn precision tubes do not have welding lines, they increase the aesthetics of the products in which they are included and provide a brighter appearance.

DAMAGE-FREE COATING

The fast forming speed and the need for high output can damage the coating, Cold rolling causes large plastic deformation of the steel, so that the steel does not damage the coating of the point.

DURABLE MICROSTRUCTURE

Due to the techniques applied in the cold drawing process, cold drawn precision tube has excellent microstructural integrity and consistency.

EASY PROCESSING

Due to superior strength and hardness, it produces a better machined surface and therefore a better looking component.

HEAT RESISTANCE

At minus 30 ° C temperature, it has good toughness and high strength. It can be used for a long time in the range of minus 50 ° C to 80 ° C. The specially formulated main substance can also work at temperatures above 110°C.

CORROSION RESISTANCE

Cold drawn precision tubes are resistant to many chemical fluids such as acid, alkali, salt, sea water, untreated sewage, corrosive soil or groundwater.

SUPERIOR FINAL PRODUCT IN FURTHER PROCESSING

As cold drawn tubes are brighter and seamless, they produce better end products than processes such as dipping and etching.
